The CyberSpace Game Jam is a hackathon focused on cybersecurity game development. It’s an opportunity for smart, innovative and passionate college students and high school students to collaborate and connect. The weekend stirs a community creative buzz in cybersecurity games, while at the same time exploring the process of development, be it programming, iterative design, narrative exploration or artistic expression. It is all condensed into a 48-hour development cycle. The CyberSpace Game Jam encourages people with all kinds of backgrounds to participate and contribute to this community spread of game development and creativity.
The structure the event is five cybersecurity game theme will be released on Feb 21st one week before the actual game jam. The game jam will begin on Friday late afternoon on Feb. 28th, with a keynote with advice from leading game developers and cybersecurity expert. Individuals and team will do a one minute pitch of their idea, and top ideas will be select by participants. Team will then form around building those ideas.
Each team must have at least one high school student on the team.
We hope our event will foster new friendships, increase confidence and opportunities within the community. During the event, people are invited to explore new technology tools, trying on new roles in development and testing their skills to do something that requires them to design, develop create, test and make a new game in 48 hours. On Sunday late afternoon on March 1st, each team will present their ideas to the community, and a trophy given to the top idea in each theme. Register Below:
